Launched in 2023, the Usapang Makabata podcast has quickly become a platform for meaningful conversations, sparking change by featuring passionate advocates and young leaders. Every episode dives deep into inspiring stories of transformation and leadership, encouraging listeners to reflect on their roles as agents of change and how they can make a difference in the lives of children and society as a whole.<\/p>\n

The award-winning podcast, hosted every week is more than just a series of discussions\u2014it’s a movement. Through thought-provoking dialogue, Usapang Makabata aims to create a space where listeners are inspired to take action, helping to drive impactful change for the future.<\/p>\n

Born From a Need to Listen<\/h2>\n

Usapang Makabata was launched in October 2023 in anticipation of Children\u2019s Month. The idea stemmed from a recommendation to use technology as a way to reach the youth and provide them with a platform to express their thoughts on matters directly affecting their lives. It also answered the growing call for spaces where young people can share their insights and ideas on how to improve their communities and the world they will one day lead.<\/p>\n

\u201cChildren have a right to be heard because they are the ones who will shape their futures,\u201d says Jun Godornes, World Vision\u2019s Interim National Director. \u201cThey deserve a say in decisions about their welfare. It\u2019s our responsibility to listen to their needs and understand how we can support their vision for a better world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each 30-minute episode of Usapang Makabata invites World Vision youth leaders, ambassadors, and professionals to speak on a range of topics aligned with the organization\u2019s advocacies. These include children\u2019s education, community building, personal development, nutrition, healthcare, and so much more.<\/p>\n

One of the featured youth leaders, Coleen, shared her thoughts on the importance of the podcast: \u201cWhen youth like myself are given a platform to be heard, we must speak out about the issues affecting children. Being a child and youth leader isn\u2019t always easy, but it\u2019s fulfilling when the community supports us and offers platforms where our voices are genuinely heard.\u201d<\/p>\n

From discussions about the mindset of a leader to the power of generosity, the podcast offers its audience a fresh perspective on what it means to lead with compassion and purpose.<\/p>\n
