Always fighting for justice and honor, Pinoy lawyer Raphael Pangalangan received the 2023 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award at the International Bar Association (IBA) Conference 2023 held last November 2 in Paris.<\/p>\n

Pangalangan handled cases of the Philippine drug war in both domestic and foreign courts; he had once challenged the Philippines\u2019 Anti-Terorrism Act of 2020 by filing a writ of amparo for red-tagging victims.<\/p>\n

IBA shared on Facebook Pangalangan\u2019s short speech upon receiving the award, wherein he shared that his accomplishment is also a recognition of the victims that lawyers represent, adding that their occupation turns into a vocation.<\/p>\n

Pangalangan was formerly the advocacy head of CenterLaw\u2019s International Remedies projects, for which he was recognized as a distinguished human rights defender in the Ignite Awards in June 2023.<\/p>\n

He continued to serve as a Special Counsel for International Law in the Philippines and the State of New York under the Ocampo and Suralvo Law Offices.<\/p>\n

His unwavering commitment to his profession sets the example of living the pledge of public service, becoming the instrument of change while pushing for political justice.<\/p>\n
