{"id":1830,"date":"2023-06-19T11:27:59","date_gmt":"2023-06-19T03:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gqq.gfl.temporary.site\/website_23b9925e\/ph-gets-nomination-from-world-travel-awards\/"},"modified":"2023-06-19T11:27:59","modified_gmt":"2023-06-19T03:27:59","slug":"ph-gets-nomination-from-world-travel-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/energetic-pink-donkey.109-123-235-239.cpanel.site\/?p=1830","title":{"rendered":"PH Gets Nomination From World Travel Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Philippines has been nominated for multiple categories in the 2023 World Travel Awards Asia category.<\/p>\n<p>The country is vying for the following nominations, the voting period of which would close on July 23, 2023:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Asia\u2019s Leading Island Destination<\/li>\n<li>Asia\u2019s Leading Beach Destination<\/li>\n<li>Asia\u2019s Leading Dive Destination<\/li>\n<li>Intramuros as Asia\u2019s Leading Tourist Attraction<\/li>\n<li>Cebu as Asia\u2019s Leading Wedding Destination; and<\/li>\n<li>The Department of Tourism as Asia\u2019s Leading Tourist Board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a statement Friday, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said the multiple nominations reaffirm the global importance of the Philippines in tourism and travel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Philippines\u2019 nominations in the World Travel Awards Asia are a testament to the hard work of the men and women of the tourism industry in the public and private sector across our many communities in the country, and an affirmation of the Marcos administration\u2019s thrust towards tourism transformation,\u201d Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said.<\/p>\n<p>She also encouraged both local and foreign tourists who have been to, and have plans of visiting the Philippines to vote for the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI encourage our fellow Filipinos and friends from all over the world to vote for the Philippines,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The prestigious award body had been acknowledging Filipino destinations since its first nomination in 2013 until present, besting tourism giants in the Caribbean, the Americas, and Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The country was WTA\u2019s World\u2019s Leading Dive Destination for four consecutive years and is currently the World\u2019s Leading Beach Destination.<\/p>\n<p>The casting of votes can be done through https:\/\/www.worldtravelawards.com\/vote.
